FORT MCPHERSON, Ga (January 12, 2009) - The
Army Ten Miler will be conducted this year on Sunday, 4 October
2009. Registration opens on 1 April. Individuals wishing to compete
on any of the Ft McPherson / Ft Gillem Ten Miler Teams (FORSCOM,
USARC, First Army, Third Army, etc.) must take part in a ten-mile
time trial scheduled for Thursday, 12 March, or submit a documented
15K or longer distance race time taken since October 2008 (for
example, the PTC Classic 15K or the Atlanta Half Marathon).
The time trial will be conducted at Hediken Field commencing at
0630 on Thursday, 12 March. The time trial will consist of ten
miles (13 1/2 laps) around Hediken Field. Males should be able to
run 70-75 minutes and females 80-85 minutes. Start location will be
in front of Quarters 10 on Staff Row. Interested individuals should
contact any of the following and provide your name, rank, unit of
assignment, duty number, and e-mail address:

Potential members who have raced a 15K distance or longer since
October 2008 may provide their documented running times (ten mile,
or 15K, or half marathon, etc.) to any of the above listed POC's no
later than 12 March in lieu of the time trial. Members of the race
committee will review each application and select a team based on
time qualifications.
Active Duty, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard personnel and
DA Civilian employees and Contractors are eligible for the event.
By regulation, civilians must participate at their own expense.
