The U.S. Army Central (USARCENT) Family Readiness Program provides support to Soldiers, Family members and Department of the Army (DA) Civilians in a concentrated effort to encourage work-life balance and enhance quality of life for the USARCENT team members and their Families.

Family Readiness Programs connect Soldiers, Families and Civilians with a range of quality programs, services, information and resources to meet challenges and maintain mission. To ensure command, installation and community connections are established and maintained the USARCENT Family Readiness Program Manager (FRPM) serves the USARCENT Commander, Soldiers, Families and Civilians by identifying gaps and developing strategies to foster balance of career and Family life skills. The FRPM is a link between the USARCENT Command, Army higher Headquarters, Soldiers, Families, Civilians and available resources within our subordinate unit’s areas.  

The Soldier and Family Readiness Group (SFRG) is a commander’s program that provides continuous, organic support to our Soldiers and Family members as they deploy in support of the USARCENT missions. SFRGs are an invaluable asset as they serve as an extension of the unit commanders in providing accurate communication and connection to resources for our Soldiers and Families.

The USARCENT Family Readiness Program mission is to build and maintain strong Families by enhancing Family readiness and morale. We strive to facilitate connection and communication between Families, the command, and the community. We encourage and build resiliency through referral assistance, education, and mutual support which encompasses our Army Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard Soldiers, DA Civilians and their Families.

Welcome to the U.S. Army Central (USARCENT) Family. Whether you're new to military life or have been a part of our extended military Family for years, you know that moving can be an adventure. Our units’ Soldier and Family Readiness Groups (SFRGs)and programing are here to help you get rooted in your new USARCENT communities. We strive to provide the right information and helpful resources for an easier adjustment period.

For military spouses wanting to continue their current career path or explore a new career, there are many useful resources available online and in your local areas. Installation and community hiring fairs frequently focus on career opportunities and continuing education for military spouses and retiring or transitioning service members, and civilians.

For parents, providing the best possible education for your children is always a priority. Connecting with your installation School Liaison, Army Community Service Relocation Program or Airman and Family Readiness Centers is key to navigating options for school choice and ensuring your child’s smooth transition into your new Army home. Under the tab “Units Family Readiness Representatives (FRR)” above you will find contact information. Your FRR can assist in connecting you and your Family with not only school resources, but child care options and the Exceptional Family Member Program services POCs.  

As you settle in, you may find yourself looking for ways to connect with your community or spend your free time. There are countless recreational events & activities on your local installations and in your local communities. Volunteering is a great way to learn and give back to your new community. Contact your FRR to learn more about volunteer opportunities and be added to your SFRG email list and join your unit’s Facebook or other social media platform to stay informed and connected.

BLUE STAR MUSEUMS

‘Blue Star’ refers to those having a Family member in active duty military service. The term dates back to the WWII-era tradition of service flags which displayed a blue star for each Family member serving during a period of war.

The Army recognizes that the selfless dedication and commitment of Army Families directly contributes to the readiness of our Soldiers. Army Families endure unique challenges, often multiple separations and relocations throughout their Soldier’s Army lifecycle.

Contact your unit’s Family Readiness Representative (FRR) for a list of local resources for spouses of deployed soldiers. From monthly gatherings to weekly morale calls, there are many ongoing activities to help Families cope with separation. If you are a geographically dispersed Family of an Active Duty, Reserves or National Guard member contact your unit’s FRR, Yellow Ribbon Family Program POC, Military OneSource or the USARCENT Family Readiness Program Manger for assistance.

The Army has established a network of programs and services to improve Soldier and Family readiness. Military OneSource also provides a wealth of information and resources for military Families on topics ranging from parenting and education, to benefits, taxes, and employment. ‘Gold Star parents, spouses, and Families will always be a part of our U.S. Army Central Family. We recognize that no one has given more to our nation than the Families of the fallen.

The Army remains dedicated to providing ongoing support to ‘Gold Star Families,’ to recognize their courage and sacrifice and to honor their loved one's legacy. Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day is recognized on the last Sunday of September and Gold Star Spouses Day occurs annually on April 5.

Army Survivor Outreach Services offers resources that include supportive counseling, financial education, benefits coordination, and support groups. Additional nonprofit and non-governmental organizations offer services that complement the Army's continuum of support for Gold Star Families.
